It’s Easy Not to Donate But Hard to be Blind

Share Your Eyes,

Be Wise

Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind eyes can see.     ~

Do you want to live after death? If so, then continue reading …

While out of your place, you can always see a few, among all the people around on the street, locating the steps and doorways with the help of a long white cane and staggering down the streets. They Struggle for each step they cover. Yes the persons we are talking about here are the ones visually impaired (blind). Try fastening a stole around your eyes for a day. I can bet you will discover how terrible it feels. Even then, Leaving blind people all by themselves to make through these unseeing hours of their lives is the current scenario. Have you ever given a thought to this horrible picture? This article is being written to draw your attention towards the notion of ‘Blind Free India’.

In this rat race competitive world, everybody is busy minting money because this is what they think can buy them everything including, funnily, even happiness. But had this been the truth Depression Doctors, Therapists and psychiatrists (that mostly the rich can afford) won’t be emerging at a pace as they are at present. So the truth is that contentment comes within us. But, How? By being selfish and looking for self realisation. And and Helping others is the most selfish deed that you can do! Absolutely ‘No amount of wealth’ or any other ‘materialistic thing’ can substitute the feeling that it will fetch you. To begin with, why not share your sight with the people who aren’t gifted with the ability to see. It may not sound big but the difference this small act can bring is startling.

Let’s go by the facts:

In Our country, India, the total population numbers to about 1,32,40,00,000 (132.4 crores). At the same time there is a very high death and birth ratio ie. daily deaths no. to about 62,789 people whereas daily births no. to about 93,787 people from different age groups.

At the same time, the average total of the people deprived of vision (blind) no. to 12,00,000(12 lakhs or 1.2 million). This means that if the people who die daily donate their eyes (after death), in about 20 days our country would become blind free.

India currently has around 1.2 million blind people which makes India home to one-third of the world’s blind population. What’s worse, 75% of these are cases of avoidable blindness, thanks to the country’s acute shortage of optometrists and donated eyes for the treatment of corneal blindness !

In nutshell, each of your little effort will gift the many a new life :).
