Do you know how to drive any of the following:
- A Bicycle
- A Scooty
- A Car?
- A Truck 😏 …
“Why do we have brakes in a car(or any other vehicle)?”
Few possible answers could be:
- To stop
- To slow down
- To reduce the speed
- To maintain balance
- To avoid collision
But from my experience of Long distance driving and even, many times, indulging in speed racing on Delhi roads with friends and sometimes to reach some meeting on time, where the vehicles plying outnumber the space available, Brakes serve an important purpose i.e.
Brakes enable you to drive faster
Give it a thought.
For a moment let us assume that there aren’t any brakes in your car. Now, estimate the maximum pace at which you may drive your car at?
Isn’t this question landing you in a fix? Is the answer to my question easy?
It’s because of the brakes that we can dare to accelerate and go faster to reach the destinations we aim to be at.
Unending Questionnaires in Our Life
Similarly, at various points in life, we come across muddled roads and paths leading to our ambitions on which we have to use brakes more than frequently. Maybe it’s the repeated questionnaire conducted by our parents, teachers, mentors & friends etcetera questioning our direction in our life, judging the decisions we have made or are yet to make or asking for the revelation of the progress report of our short time goals. We consider these unending surveys that we have to take, that the society is birthrighted to enforce upon us, as irritants or “brakes” to our ongoing work.
