Everyone has two lives. The second one begins when you realise you only have one.~ Confucius
The Question That May Recreate Your Life
We spend a greater fraction of our days worrying about all sorts of things, maximizing knots into hiccups, hiccups into issues, adding on to the burden on our nerves and muscles.
But if you are at a position where you have to answer the following question, will you still worry about your worries and frown?
So what exactly is the question that does land in every life, at different points of time, and takes away the frown??
What is it that can minimise or rather diminish not only Grams but Kilograms of the burden that we carry?
Here, breaking the suspense, I allow the question …
Sir, since now that you are aware of the fact that you don’t have a lot of time, how do you wish to spend the last few hours of your life?
Though not many of us are put through this question that frequently but there is a version of it that we all are living through.
‘If you were to die tomorrow, what will you do for the remaining twenty-four ticks of your life, that the clock shall take?’
Even if not put up by such a question, don’t we actually live through this uncertainty? Isn’t it the fact that the term of our life is just a random number with no nominate probability?
Is it not true, that we have a limited time by our side to do whatever we should be doing rather than just dreaming of it?
Isn’t death an ultimate truth, that we all have to face no matter what?
Yes, as a matter of fact, death is an ultimate, inescapable reality.
Its ineludibility has been beautifully brought out by the cinematography of the soul-stirring Indian-punjabi movie ‘Ardaas‘.
Even the Hollywood lays stress on its unavoidability through the Final Destination film series . Despite the premonitions and an advanced knowledge of the manner of their death, the actors are unable to escape the death as per the script of the movie.
So if you have a limited time, why not make something out of it?
Why waste the little time that you are left with frowning? Why spend the remnant of your life in a humdrum way? Why to surrender yourself to the conventions and waste the little tics you have? Why not you stand and make the most out of it?
Why not give your thrills a try? Why don’t you let the muscles of your body take shape or build six-pack abs? What are you waiting for? Why don’t you say ‘No’ to your uncle when he enforces his conventions on you?
Why not spend a life in a way you wish to?
Why endeavour at the things you wished to work at ever since you were born? Why do you keep the wish of walking the stage, akin to your favourite model, back in your heart? Why keep the itch to watch the moon, from a mile away, an itch? Why to surrender? Why give up? Why to quail?
My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour and some style.~Dr.Maya Angelou.
Live the life you think you deserve to be breathing.
Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile.~Mark Twain
As has been aptly quoted,
“Life is a gift, but not a guarantee.”
‘Alex is about to board a plane on a school trip. He gets a premonition that the plane will explode. It does, and the FBI suspects that Alex could be responsible for the explosion.’
